Hi

I have type 1 roseacea, redness, flare ups and thread veins cheek area .



No bumps or pustules at all.



What would be the best treatment please?

Answer: Hello Natalie,



Thank you for your question. Rosacea is a chronic inflammatory condition, where the skin experiences prolonged periods of . It can be treated in a number of ways, and some patients may require multiple treatment modalities, depending on severity.



LED (light therapy) on near infra red and blue light can help to reduce the inflammatory process, leading to reduced flushing. You may require a course of 6 to 10 sessions, taken weekly. A course of 6 sessions costs £175.



Skin peels can help to exfoliate the skin and reduce cellular debris on the surface that could be exacerbating the rosacea. You may a course of 4 to 6 sessions, in combination with LED. A course of 4 sessions is £600.



Prescription medication such as antifungals or antibiotics may help to reduce the proliferation of micro-organisms on the skin surface that cause irritation and inflammation. You may need to continue taking these medications for 3 to 6 months. Cost depends on the length of time the medication is required, but starts from £75.



Targeted skincare products which block the inflammatory cascade in the skin will help to keep the flushing at bay consistently. A skincare bundle containing such products starts from £216.



Polynucleotide have been proven to reduce the inflammatory cascade, and promote skin healing at a cellular level. You may require a course of 4 sessions in with LED. A course of 4 sessions is £1100.

I would like to invite you to Clinic for a Dermatology Consultation. Doctor Fatima, who specialises in Dermatology and Aesthetics, would see you first to discuss your concerns. During this time, she will thoroughly assess your Rosacea and offer a test patch with the laser used and give you advice regarding treatments and costings. We advise a Laser test patch to ensure there are no adverse reaction. Once we have assessed the success of the test patch, a larger area can then be treated.

There is no cure for Rosacea, but a range of treatments available at the Clinic can help to control the symptoms effectively, efficiently and affordably with no downtime or pain. These may include prescription medication, IPL and/or ND: YAG laser and LED light treatment to help heal the skin.

We also offer a wide range of medical grade for your home care use which have given our clients amazing results, allowing them to regain confidence through professional and expert advice.
